Leri Matehha is an Estonian-German artist and filmmaker.
She studied Philosophy and Scandinavian studies at the University of Cologne, before graduating from the Academia of Media Arts Cologne with an emphasis on media theory and cinema (directing) in 2019.
2020 she received a grant from the Wim Wenders Foundation for the development of her feature film debut "W".
She works as an independent director, writer and producer and her works have been exhibited and awarded at various international festivals, including IFF Rotterdam, Images Festival Toronto, Beijing, Hamburg and Clermont Ferrand.
Between 2021/22 she worked as an artistic researcher in Israel with a DAAD grant and developed a hybrid documentary about post-Soviet immigrants of different generations in Israel, which will be shot in the second half of 2023.
Leri lives and works between Germany, Estonia and Israel.
