Beginning of the 20th century. German sports - and body cult enthusiasts live on a tropical island to escape the misanthropic industrialization. The daily life of the inhabitants consists of physical rituals, but also sports, dance and the study of plants. The fiction is interspersed with a documentary film essay narrated in Yiddish. Increasingly, this essay, in the form of dreams of the islanders, is interwoven into the fictional part of the film.
